When Thành-Đức was a child, he enjoyed sketching portraits of Vietnamese royal families, ladies, mandarins, comic heros, etc.
After the Vietnam war, he found work in commercial art. It was his survival job.
Eventually, he joined Cầu-Vồng Art Studio where he worked with many artists doing beautiful artworks.
Toward the end of his life, one of his last and most successful art projects involved painting portraits of royal Vietnamese families. He completed 2 sets of portraits of 13 Kings from the last royal family in Vietnam.
